HEIC to JPG

Open iPhone photos anywhere by turning HEIC into JPG.

Everything is processed on your device. Nothing you upload or type is sent to a server, and nothing is stored.

HEIC to JPG online

iPhones save photos as HEIC, which Windows, Android and many upload forms will not open. Drop your HEIC photos in and get JPGs back that work everywhere — converted on your own device, as many at a time as you like.

How to use heic to jpg

  1. Add your HEIC photos

Drop in .heic or .heif files from an iPhone, iPad or Mac, one or many.

  2. Pick a format

JPG works everywhere. PNG keeps every detail, at a much larger size. WebP is smallest, for websites.

  3. Convert and download

Save each photo, or download them all at once.

Frequently asked questions

What is a HEIC file?

HEIC is the format iPhones and iPads have used for photos since iOS 11. It stores the same picture in about half the space of a JPG, but Windows, Android and many websites cannot open it — which is why converting to JPG is so common.

Will I lose quality?

Not visibly at the default 90% quality. JPG is a little less efficient than HEIC, so the JPG will usually be larger than the photo you started with. Choose PNG if you need a lossless copy for editing.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in your browser, so your photos never leave your device. On browsers that cannot read HEIC themselves, a decoder of about 3 MB downloads the first time you convert.

Are portrait photos kept the right way up?

Yes. The rotation your iPhone recorded is applied, so portraits come out upright.

Is the photo's location kept?

No. Converting draws the picture afresh, so the location, camera details and other metadata are left behind — handy before sharing a photo publicly.

How do I stop my iPhone saving HEIC?

Go to Settings → Camera → Formats and choose "Most Compatible". New photos are then saved as JPG; photos you have already taken stay HEIC.
