Discount Calculator

What you really pay, and what you really save.

For “an extra 10% off sale prices”.

Price after discount = price × (1 − discount ÷ 100). A second discount applies to the already-reduced price, so 20% then 10% off is 28% off in total, not 30%.

Everything is processed on your device. Nothing you upload or type is sent to a server, and nothing is stored.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate a discount?

Multiply the price by 1 minus the discount as a decimal. 25% off ₦8,000 is ₦8,000 × 0.75 = ₦6,000.

Why isn't 20% plus 10% off the same as 30%?

The second discount applies to the already-reduced price. 20% then 10% leaves 0.8 × 0.9 = 72% of the price — 28% off.

Can I work out the original price from a sale price?

Divide the sale price by 1 minus the discount. ₦6,000 after 25% off was ₦6,000 ÷ 0.75 = ₦8,000.
